TRRAIN Retail Awards- The Journey So Far

Have you come across an associate who was speech and hearing impaired but fulfilled the wish of one of the housekeeping staff members’ daughter by helping them buy a Chocó Lava Cake when they were short of money? Or an associate who helped an old cobbler whose low vision was making it difficult to earn his livelihood? Will you spend 24 hours to travel hundreds of miles to deliver a 250 rupees shoe just because you made a commitment; well a retail associate has done it.

These are just some of the examples from a plethora of 10000+ entries we have received over the past few years for the TRRAIN Retail Awards. TRRAIN Retail Awards judges the finest, excellent, enduring customer service story of retail associates in the industry. The award recognizes and rewards customer service excellence in retail (both modern and traditional), at an all India level to create industry case studies and benchmarks for customer service excellence in retail in India.

It celebrates those who have gone the extra mile to get an extra smile. They, who are the true goodwill ambassadors of their respective companies and brands.

Year 2011, saw the awards being unveiled and celebrated on 12th December, at Taj Lands End, Mumbai, with more than 2000 participants and 17 associates being acknowledged for their contribution to the retail industry. Bangalore welcomed the awards in 2012, New Delhi in the year 2013, followed by Chennai in 2014.19 winners from across the country were felicitated at the awards & 3 emerged as the national winners. Apart from the certificate of appreciation, trophy & cash prize, all the three winners went on a three day trip to Dubai. 

For the 5th edition, the TRRAIN Retail awards was back in Mumbai and was held on the 11th of February, 2016 along with Retail Leadership Summit organized by the Retailers Association of India (RAI). The award ceremony recognized 6 retail associates as the national winners out of the 15 retail associates who were awarded as the Category Winners at the regional levelThe key highlight of the TRRAIN Retail Awards was an insightful discussion of Sadhguru, Founder of Isha Foundation with Padma Shri Awardee Mr. Piyush Pandey, on Customer Service Excellence.

A new category of ‘HR Initiative’ was newly introduced this year in the TRRAIN Retail Awards to recognize the retail organizations that have created a culture of service excellence and supported the sales associates to outperform and deliver excellence in customer service. The award for the ‘Best HR Initiative for the Year 2015-2016’ was awarded to Godrej Nature’s Basket, Marks & Spencer Reliance India and Future Group- Big Bazaar & FBB.

The 6th edition of the TRRAIN Retail Awards are being held in Mumbai on Thursday, Feb 16th, 2017 (second half) of the Retail Leadership Summit (RLS-RAI event).
